Story... |
|
It all
began due to the faith, love, and commitment instilled by
Virginia and Raymond Meyer. Bearing nine children
required these traits plus many more. Two of the nine,
Dick and Joe, often teamed up when they were young because
of their proximity in age. This partnership continued
through adolescence as they cut grass, trimmed bushes, and
shoveled snow to earn a diminutive wage. Coming from a large
family taught them good work ethic and determination, not to
mention survival of the fittest. |

Carpentry
came to Dick & Joe early in life. In high school
they took wood shop very seriously; making numerous
projects, fine tuning their wood working skills, and
receiving awards for their quality craftsmanship.
After Dick graduated from high school, he entered the job
force and became a carpenter. Two years later Joe graduated
and joined the same company, continuing their lifelong collaboration.
In 1978, after five years of apprenticeship with two
different companies, Dick & Joe took what money and
tools they had to start a company -- Meyer Bros. |
|

After graduating from college, Jerry joined the company of
his two brothers and the brotherly trio started to climb the
business ladder. The growth of the company slowly
progressed, adding employees, trucks, and tools over the years. Meyer Bros. considers itself to be somewhat
conservative, enabling growth to be controlled, therefore
maintaining the highest quality control. In 1995, a
lifelong dream of Dick would become a reality -- having a
son join the crew. This marked the shift from Meyer
Bros. to Meyer Bros. & Sons. Joe's similar wish
was granted as well when his son also joined the crew a
couple years later, as well as Dick's other son being
part-time help. The name Meyer naturally came from
their fatherly heritage, but Bros. & Sons comes from the
commitment they have to each other to work not only as a
team, but as a family.

Today, Meyer Bros. & Sons has grown to eight employees
and continues to prosper due to our loyal clientele.
Our growth is to such an extent that we often operate with
two crews, enabling more than one job to be completed at a
time. However, due to our conservative nature, we
insure that quality never suffers. The facets of the
business include a wood shop and
a paint shop. The paint
shop is where our painting division is stationed, while the
wood shop provides an equipped area for custom bookcases and
such. |

Even
though we have been blessed with growth and success, we still
hold strong to the ethics and values which are so deeply
imbedded into our family. We also give full credit to
our customers, for all of our growth and success is due to
their loyalty. The key to Meyer Bros. & Sons is to
maintain the strong family unity we so strongly possess and
filter it into our work. Our goal is simple -- we want our family to help your
family's dreams come true!
