The Beginning

After five years of apprenticeship with two different companies, brothers Dick & Joe took what money, dreams and tools they had and started a company – Meyer Brothers Carpenters.

Another Brother

After graduating from college, Jerry joined the company of his two brothers and the brotherly trio started to slowly grow, adding employees, trucks, and tools over the years.

Longest non-family employee

Jarl was one of the first non-family members to join the team and after 31 years with the company he has since retired.

The second beginning - the addition of son

After graduating from high school, Brian (Dick's son, front left) started full-time with Meyer Brothers and officially changed the name to Meyer Brothers and Sons, fulfilling their life-long dream to become a multi-generational family business.

The second addition of son

After graduating from high school, Joey (Joe's son) started full-time with Meyer Brothers, and the two original brothers now each had a son in the family business.

Two additional sons join - design services added

In 2008, both Rick (Dick's son) & Luke (Joe's son) joined the family business. Rick moved back to town after graduating from college with a degree in architecture, and gained experience as an intern architect in Portland, Oregon, to officially advance the company to a design build firm.

Transfer of ownership

After 41 years of leading & owning the business, ownership officially changed hands from Dick & Joe to Rick, Joey & Jeremy. Jeremy graduated with Rick with a degree in architecture, and in 2013 he moved to Ohio from Seattle, bringing his vast array of skills and experience to our ownership team.

Celebrating 45 years of serving greater Cincinnati

From the humble beginnings of two young carpenters with a dream, today Meyer Brothers and Sons has become a 25-person, multi-disciplinary firm comprised of four sons, a neph-son, a brother-in-law, cousins, friends and neighbors. With such strong familial roots, we treat all of our employees and clients as family, regardless of last name.
